Florida Man Killed After Altercation In Maryland: State Police

A Sunday morning shooting that left a Florida man dead is under investigation by Maryland State Police as the shooter remains at large.

Miami native Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, 23, was identified by investigators as the person who was killed during an altercation in Wicomico County.

According to officials, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on June 9, officers from the Salisbury Police Department were called to the 700 block of East Naylor Mill Road to investigate a shooting, where they found Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound after what was described as "a physical altercation with an unknown man."

Police say that during the argument, the man pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez before fleeing from the area. 

Rodriguez was transported by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

No details about the shooter have been released by state police. No arrests have been made as of Monday, June 10. 

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
